[How-To] Scanning QR Code PDF Maps into Avenza Maps

FieldMate QR Creation Wizard supports Avenza Maps Direct Import using our QR Code and Link Generation systems. Any Avenza PDF Map Files that are uploaded through FieldMate QR Creation Wizard can be directly imported into your Avenza Maps system.

This guide assumes that a map has already been uploaded and a QR code or link has already been generated and sent to you as the user

To begin, open the “Avenza Maps” application on your iOS or Android Device.

iOS (iPhone and iPad) Android (Samsung, HTC, LG, Other)
  1. Tap on the “+” icon at the top right of the application.
  2. If you are presented with any options, select the one similar to “Import Maps” or “Add Maps”
  3. Tap the square QR-Code icon in the top right of the application.
  4. Use the built in QR-Code reader to scan the provided QR-Code
  5. Avenza Maps will now download the map to your device. We recommend that you are connected to a WiFi network as Avenza PDF files can be large in file size and will use a significant portion of your cellular data cap.
  1. Tap the “+” icon found in the circle at the bottom right of the application.
  2. Tap the “Download or Import a Map” option in the menu.
  3. Tap the QR-Code icon in the top right of the application.
  4. Use the built in QR-Code reader to scan the provided QR-Code
  5. Avenza Maps will now download the map to your device. We recommend that you are connected to a WiFi network as Avenza PDF files can be large in file size and will use a significant portion of your cellular data cap.
